about mE

Hi, I’m Michael Cummins—a tech sales leader, dog dad, tattoo lover, travel enthusiast, and founder of SaaS Scalers. I help early-stage SaaS founders build scalable, repeatable sales systems that actually work—without burning out or guessing their way through growth. But it wasn’t always like this. Before I broke into tech, I was working 12-hour shifts in the hospitality industry.

I spent a decade managing restaurants, training staff, grinding day and night. Then one day, I sold everything I owned, packed up my car, and drove across the country with $1300 to my name.I slept on the floor—wedged between a couch and a wall (not kidding!)—reading books about Google, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and Netflix. Why? Because I knew the life I wanted wouldn’t come from playing it safe.

And I wasn’t going to wait for permission to build it.I didn’t have a tech degree. I didn’t have connections.

Just grit, a learner’s mindset, and the ability to sell.A few months later, I landed a role at Google. Tens of thousands of people applied. They hired 32. I was one of them.

From there, I went on to:

  • Join AlienVault as employee #64, and help scale the company through its $600M+ acquisition by AT&T. I was hired as a BDR, promoted to AE 2 weeks in, team lead shortly after that. Presidents Club regular.

  • Help build Cloudflare’s Austin office from the ground up, training over 1,000 sales hires—from entry-level reps to execs—and help scale the team through and post IPO.

  • Serve as the top-performing mid-market AE world-wide at WP Engine. Presidents Club there too.

  • Write global sales playbooks at Google and multiple hyper-growth startups.

  • Close million dollar deals—like the time I cold-emailed a Fortune 500 CISO on Thanksgiving Day and got a response.

I loved the work. But over time, I realized I was ready to build something of my own. After years of watching founders make the same mistakes—hiring salespeople too early, scaling before nailing their process, relying on playbooks written by people who hadn’t sold in years—I knew I could help.Since then, I’ve:

  • Built a consulting business that gives early-stage SaaS founders the exact sales tools and guidance they need to grow their business.

  • Worked side-by-side with founders to install proven systems, scale revenue, and avoid the painful mistakes I’ve seen (and fixed) too many times.

  • Consulted with SaaS companies across the U.S, U.K. and Europe to help them transition from founder-led selling to high-performing, system-driven teams—so growth becomes predictable, not dependent on the founder doing it all.

But here’s what matters more than the resume:

  • I’ve been in the room when founders are stuck, stressed, and trying to figure out what’s next.

  • I’ve seen the chaos that happens when you hire the wrong salespeople or scale too soon.

  • I know what it feels like to be running a fast-growing company… while still feeling like you’re doing everything yourself.

That’s why I started SaaS Scalers.

To teach what I’ve learned after 10+ years on the front lines—selling, training, leading, and building.

To give founders a real playbook.

To help them scale with confidence, not chaos.

If you’re a SaaS founder trying to scale past founder-led sales…

Or you’ve already built your sales team, but you’re not getting the results you want…

If you want your time back, without slowing down revenue…

If you want world class B2B growth strategies that are actually working in today’s market…

I’d love to help.

Thanks for stopping by. If any of this resonates, reach out—I’m always up for a conversation.

Let’s scale something great.

— Mike
